Could you please explain what is the Spirit line?

Hi guys,
I already searched in google and in this forum, but I still cannot find an answer for my question, I hope you can help me:
In some items there is something called Spirit Line, do you know what the Spirit Line is for?

when you collect all the pieces in the same element like tierra you get extra hp , attack ,and defense

great to know that, thanks a lot, and is it better to have the same spirit line that the character element?, I mean, wind for pegasus, fire for fenix, etc? or there is no difference

I have all of my elements from the same spirit line, but none of the Spirit Lines Activate... -.- :(

Unfortunately I can't, it was several levels ago, now my gear is entirely different, with no Spirit Line...

vladko92, a friend of mine, told me that sometimes, depending of the patch you use, the spirit line is not correctly activated. When you have your pieces with same spirit line, please try again with no patch.

I will give it a try, next time when I get good gear for it :)
