Saint Seiya: Manga vs Anime
I thought it'd be interesting to see people's opinions on what they preferred about the anime and also what they preferred from the manga. What they disliked from either would be fine as well but try to be fair and include fair points of both (or what you liked/disliked from each) rather than just sticking to one and dissing the anime or manga entirely.
I'm still thinking over my own preferences but even if he wasn't all that needed and it ended up being a Weird Hassle as Camus showed up as "the master of his master" I did like the Crystal Saint. Maybe he could of been someone else other than Hyoga's master? But I liked him a lot.
Also I preferred Hyoga's original intentions and background in the manga but I'll delve more into that later. I also Much prefer Shura's motivations in the manga as well and that whole "most loyal saint" thing was very silly.

Re: Saint Seiya: Manga vs Anime
In the anime the cloth looks much better especially the first bronze and the gold cloth.
And i know some people don't like asgard part but i do .
I think asgard is better than poseidon.
Also i like the steel saint and i don't like the idea of mitsumasa kido being the father of 100 kids .
It doesn't make sense but hopefully in the anime they skip it.
So this is why i prefer the anime over the manga.

Re: Saint Seiya: Manga vs Anime
I'm really surprised tbh, almost 99% of Saint Seiya fans that I see online seem to be manga purists. :0 I prefer the anime as well.
I agree, the Cloths look better and I wasn't into those weird footie-pajamas. Though the only anime cloths I didn't like was version 1 of Ikki's armor and Shiryu's light purple tights/green armor combo. Shura's first helmet was also kinda weird.
I also agree with the Extremely Dumb plotline of Mitsumasa Kido being the father of 100 kids though to be fair, even Kurumada himself regretted this from what I've heard. I love the Asgard arc, it was so so good and it is definitely loads better than Poseidon.
Bringing other things, I prefer Aphrodite slightly more in the manga as well but only because his dialogue and mannerisms were slightly different about certain situations.
(In the anime when talking about killing Shun's master he was haughty and whimsically 'evil' about it, whereas in the manga he's more reserved. He states it's a shame because he was a good man but he doesn't regret it)
Also in his dying breath, Aphrodite in the manga was more adamant about he still sides with the Pope and I always thought his loyalty was one of his interesting points. It's just these little things though, they're both overall the same.

Re: Saint Seiya: Manga vs Anime
To be fair there are some things i didn't like in the anime like when they invented some saint like the saint of the flame , and i got mixed feelings about the crystal saint because his cloth looked nice and he was a good character and but it was a mess in the story with camus.

im still wondering who is Hyoga's father, obviously it can't be Camus because they are 6 years apart and also because they would've said it

Re: Saint Seiya: Manga vs Anime
I think it's supposed to be the whole 'Mitsumasa Kido is their father and also the father of 100 saint kids' but they dropped it for the anime so I don't think they wanted people to dwell on their parents. I do like the idea of Kido being one of the bronze saint's father for conflict. Though if I had to choose, I wonder who.
One thing that left an impression on me in the manga though was Hyoga bringing up how he met 'his father' (Kido) just once as a kid and he instantly knew he hated him. He had apathetic eyes and he looked upon at him so coldly.
Actually maybe Kido staying as his father would be interesting. It would be between him or Seiya maybe.

Re: Saint Seiya: Manga vs Anime
I just thought it might be a little interesting for one of them to be his kid but you're right, it would be kinda awkward and throw everything out of whack. :T
Speaking of which, I thought it was odd when in the anime Shun pointed out a spot for the others to meet and said "our parents used to take us here when we were younger." I wonder if it was an error or something intentional.
